It is time for this action to go away. As long as race remains a factor in acceptance for any job or position, racism will continue.

Affirmative Action is a misnomer. What could possibly be "affirmative" about socially and politically sanctioned discrimination?

Affirmative action policies create more problems than they solve. It creates a devisive hiring/ working process. It is a bad prctice all around and needs to go away.

Of course we should not be judged by the color of our skin! That goes without saying. But, get real. We are judged by the color of our skin and people of color know this. Look at the disrespect is shown our President. Calling him a liar when giving a speech, pictures of him as a monkey, etc. This young woman did have something we didn't have, people of color, she could bring attention to her plight by a suit! Now the old phrase, the race card is used to stop us from complaining, but it doesn't work with me!

@angel123,Look at the disrespect is shown our President. Calling him a liar when giving a speech, pictures of him as a monkey, etc----- I'm pretty sure that works both ways. I believe Bush, Clinton, Carter, Reagan etc.... were also called names and liars by many, many people. The way they looked and their families were also taken to task. So what's your point? I'm sure that's different right? Please your example is not exclusive to Obama or people of color!!!!!!!!

"Calling him a liar when giving a speech, pictures of him as a monkey"... President Obama was called a inappropriately called a liar during a speech not because of his skin color but because (like all politicians) he is not always honest and forthright and I saw many pictures of President Bush depicted as a monkey as well. One where his faced morphed into a chimp before your eyes. I have to admit it was kind of funmy.

You're (fill in the race): you're in. You're (fill in a race other than the first option): you're not in because of your answer. How is this defensible by anyone? It is against EVERYTHING Martin Luther King taught - the content of one's character, not the color of one's skin.

Look at what affirmative action has brought us: Barack Obama and Eric Holder. Enough said.

@angel123, President Bush was also called a liar and depicted as a monkey so I think your exmaple of Obama is way off base. And most of the commenters on here got it right, as long as Affirmative Action exists, so will racism. Judge people by who they are, not their skin color!
