The cyber-screaming crowd continually write posts telling us how no player ever improves under Don Lucia's coaching. Nick Bjugstad seems to be improving at a very quick pace.

Great kid. Took my 2 yr. old to the "Skate with the Gophers" day, and Bjugstad made sure to stay on the ice until every kid got to skate around with him. He was pulled in all directions of the ice so the Mom's in the stands could get pictures of him with the different groups of kids. The rink attendant kept calling him off the ice, but he stayed out there past his alotted time. ...it will suck to see him leave. It would be nice to see top talent stick around the U for a change. Maybe Bjugstad is different than those that have left before him? Wishful thinking.

Bjugstad need to stay at least one more year. Think about it, he started his freshman year when he should have been a senior in high school. So really, if he leaves after his junior year, it would be like leaving after his sophmore year age wise. I hope he listens to his dad and uncle and stays. The experience he could gain leading the Gophers into the NCAA's would be invaluable. The alternative is schlepping around in the AHL. There is plenty of time for that..If these kids could only realize how fast it goes and that you can't get that time back, none of them would leave. In college you get to be a god and in the minors you get to play in some city where nobody knows or cares who you are. Not a tough call if you think about it.

We have had the joy of spending time with Nick and family away from the game at our cabins and Nick is an absolute classy young man. Nick has an absoulte bright future and he will be successful at any level he is involved at. It is a pleasure to see Nick continue to do well, while staying so grounded. Go Nick!!!

The Wheels are coming off at Mariucci this weekend! BSU is playing much better the past 15 games. Don's job is on the line in the next few weeks.
