So now if MN is exempt from no child left behind, how are they going to consider funding for charter schools?

So...we don't have money to keep a charter school open, we can't make medicare payments on time, but I bet you that when the bill comes due on a Vikings stadium, that bill is paid to the Vikings on time. Ridiculous.

The problems are arising from parents and students leaving a poorly-performing charter school -- this is what school choice is all about.

Another experiment bites the dust and children are the victims. Stop micro-managing legislators. Two years is not enough even if you started with all kindergartners !

Only in its second year, the school was struggling academically... Do you think the school closed because parents didn't like results? I would blame the parents.

So...the kids can't make it in the public schools, and now they can't make it in the charter schools, so it must be those overpaid "union" teachers' fault right??? Guess again.

The delay in state payments might not have been the only cause for the school's trouble, but it certainly doesn't help any school to borrow from a bank until the state pays its dues. The only beneficiary is the bank. The next time the state has an unexpected windfall, they should bring the school payments up to date.
