Minneapolis Police Chief Tim Dolan is not key law enforcement. Champlin Police Chief Dave Kolb is definitely not key law enforcement and his opinion quite frankly mean nothing. If you going to ask law enforcement ask a whole precinct. It of course all comes down to looking at other States and the statistics. The truth will be shown.

They should just call it the "shoot your neighbor" bill. We don't need to incourage any of the dingbats out there with weapons to use them.

"creates loophole for murder"----What a bunch of liberal emotional blather! Does he rely on statistics and data from the dozens of other states that already have this? No, he won't, because he can not find anything that will help his liberal lie.

Republican bill sponsor Sen. Gretchen Hoffman has called the reaction from law enforcement "over the top".....Ahhh Senator Hoffman calling anyone "over the top" is the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black!

"Republican bill sponsor Sen. Gretchen Hoffman has called the reaction from law enforcement "over the top" and says the bill provides protection for officers." - How exactly does it do that? Will each officer get a copy of the bill printed on a kevlar vest?

Many other states have this law and it has not created a big problem. When the concealed carry law was passed, the police, etc. were saying the same things.

When cops do more than show up after a crime to take a report, then we can talk. Until then, I would legally like to take care of my own safety thank you very much.

It's about time Victims are given afew Rights. The Perps have always had the advantage... As with 'concealed carry' the top echelon of LE is bleating like sheep that the sky will fall if this passes into law. But just like 'concealed carry' their rhetoric will not materialize into reality. If I were them, I would seriously think about the credibility factor. Can you really trust them with anything they say??? Take a poll of the rank and file patrol officer and you will get a more accurate depiction of what LE REALLY thinks about this bill. I predict it WILL pass the Senate in spite of the bleating of the liberal LE hierarchy-again, because they have no credibility left after the 'concealed carry' debacle. I fully support this bill and encourage all MN Legislators AND the Gov to do likewise.

Just more of the liberal 'sky is falling' nonsense. 31 other states have the Castle Doctrine. Problems are so low as to be nearly unmeasurable. As with shall-issue concealed carry laws, it has proven to be an unqualified success. Not to mention that no state has EVER repealed either a CCW or Castle Doctrine law. But facts don't matter to anti-gun zealots. It's all about freedom and they don't like that.
