Budget proposals would reach all walks of life.
The US Senate's budget is more likely to . . . what? Oh . . . They haven't produced one in three years? Never mind.
Will 0bama be giving money to "green" companies like Solyndra or subsidizing things like the Chevy Volt?
We farm -- I'm OK with giving up subsidies while farm prices are high.
On the other hand, the gov't really needs to keep heating assistance for the poor. That's a program that does work. A lot of people don't have $1500 lying around to fill their propane tank twice a winter.
Just cut back on the empire - start closing bases
53 Cents of every tax dollar goes to the Pentagon (not including the wars),, 1 nuclear submarine could pay for 1 year of Insurance for all the children in the US and the Pentagon says we need 7 of them. Seriously!
53 cents of every dollar. More then 1/2 of the rest of the budget. Cut the Pentagon budge in 1/2 and put 1/4 of that to the deficit and cut the tax payers taxes by 1/4.. and it is a win win... except of course for the Military Contractors and the politicans they purchase.
This said it all: "They're easy targets because they [the poor] have no influence." And that's JUST the way the wealthy like it. More serfs for them, desperate for any crumb they'll toss our way.
To answer your question hrearden57, yes, the budget does increase the subsidy for a rich liberal to buy a Chevy Volt from $7500 to $10000.
Waaaaah. Enough about healthcare. Just because you're a citizen (and in most cases, not even that) in this country and you get sick does NOT mean that you're allowed to STEAL from me to pay your medical bills.
How are Conservatives going to pay to rebuild Iraq for their best friends, the Iraqi people? It is almost like Conservatives are trying to slip out of their solemn promises they made to the Iraqi people to rebuild their country no matter the cost in "blood and treasure". I don't recall that Conservatives made any cuts to anything when they decide to promise to rebuild Iraq. Shouldn't they have had to come up with cuts to pay for their promises? Every penny was borrowed to pay the war profiteers.
At a glance, something to make everyone moan. Perhaps the President's budget proposal is not so far off if so many on all sides are feeling put upon.
