This is the other side of college football: winter workouts, an unglamorous but necessary component of every program.

An excellent, excellent article on an underappreciated aspect of the game. When a tackle is blown or a block fails fans are quick to point the finger at poor technique or differing skill levels, but it may well be that one player is just too tired and/or not strong enough, esp in the 4th quarter. This sort of piece not only educates fans, it signals to the program and especially players that the mundane really matters. Well done Chip.

I thought Browbeater Brew had his teams bigger, faster and stronger then Mason's teams with the "best strength coaching staff in the country doing a tremendous job with the team!"

Wisconsin's Rose Bowls started in Jan. 2 years ago, Gabe Carimi grabbed his O-Line team, and they set the example in the gym. The foundation of champions are born of sweat of the off season. Coach Kill and his staff are heading in the right direction! Good article.

I just hope our coaching staff doesn't get any bigger during the off season!

Browbeaterbrew, its February, let the delusionalists have their fun and fantasies like they have during every February over the past 50 years.

Nice article. Provides a view rarely seen or appreciated. However, it still takes talent to win games. Time will tell if Kill has recruited and will recruit the talent to compete.

The Gophers football team will work as hard as they can and will be fortunate to win 4 games. They are happy to have North Dakota State off the schedule this year. Bison would be victorious again.

Training, coaching and talent. Unfortunately, the gophers only have two out of the three. I'll let the readers decide which which two we have.
