From a marketing standpoint it makes sense that all metro transit would have a uniform design. It also seems the entire point of the Met Council is to look at the larger picture - to try and create some level of uniform planning throughout the metro. Perhaps the real issue is that local communities can't seem to work well with other entities.

"The agency's favored design of yellow, red, blue and white patterns would mimic the design of light-rail cars. The color scheme is intended to stress the similarity of bus rapid transit (BRT) to light-rail transit, which surveys show many riders prefer to conventional buses." Makes sense. If you let everyone have an opinion on this, they will. I didn't see any objective reasons why the bus should be painted any differently.

Oh, man, who cares? How much money are we spending working on competing designs? Just paint 'em white, but a stripe down the site and be done with it.

Why would a regional transportation system have to kowtow to a couple of county commisssioners on paint colors for a bus? Oh by the way, a politician named Beard is going to fix the situation. No, not the coloring of a bus stupid, the entire makeup of a regional planning agency. Wait a minute!! Maybe this is about the regional planning agency and not the colors of a bus. These politicians are getting so clever these days they had me fooled there for a minute.

OMG just go back to the old red bus and be done with it.

At a time when every metro bus system is struggling for ridership, arguing over color schemes has to be the biggest waste of time and money...

Paint them green to remind us how much money these agencies waste on things like this. At least no one asked for square tires on the buses.

"Krause, in his letter to Haigh, said he was writing on behalf of several Dakota County officials "to share our utter frustration. ... It is supremely aggravating to be invited to share thoughts ... only to have the input completely disregarded."" ---- Welcome to the club, now you know how a lot of us taxpayers feel.

Good grief! You'd think these county commissioners would have more important things to do than complain about the color scheme to be used on a regional bus system. Grow up!

put LEDs on them displaying the average price of gasoline, and the average cost of road repairs per mile...
