Thursday's loss to Wisconsin could really hurt Minnesota, which blew its chance to win in regulation.

Have to laugh at the unhinged sports writers ripping the Gophers basketball team, and for what? The team, aside from Ralph and Rodney, are all sophomores and freshmen. Freshmen are renowned for showing flashes of their talent between average and sub-par performances (i.e., Coleman, 'Dre Hollins, and red-shirt freshman Eliason). Does anyone seriously doubt these three are not going to be absolute studs on the court in the near future? I don't subscribe to the Henny Penny notion about this team or its bright future. This game was a building block not a road block.

Any comment on the lineup that pulled the gophers back into the game being sat in the final minute and change -- after less than 5 minutes a man except for EE who played the enmtire comeback -- for the starting line who "was gassed" as the announcer said - and then leaving the starters in for the entire overtime? Watch the inside game on tape - and ask.. why did we lose? Who put in tired players when those who owned Wisconsin were parking pine as we slowly lost? That is who loses the ball games.. not the kids.

It was nice to see the come back...2 things that were frustrating...1- Bo Ryan & his countless facial glares at officials and 2- where has Sampson gone? He seems to have digressed his abilities on the court to his freshman year levels.

Sid, bad teams aren't "haunted" by a loss. Any loss. Bad teams just lose. If and when the Gophers make it into the upper 50% of the conference, they may get haunted by a defeat.

Badgers scored one field goal in the last 13 minutes of the game and won. They did their best to give to you, and you wouldn't take it. Ya gotta love it.

pooonu --"no offense but your contention was refuted during the post-game press conference.".. Sorry, I watched the game, especially the plays inside, and ran the tape... no amount of KA or rationalization in a press conference changes the last 6 minutes of play of half-step short and chugging by the same 5 players, nor does it change that the players that removed the gap sat the last 6 minutes.

I would love to knwo what kind of a play Tubby designed for the last 28 seconds.

They are not a very good team when push comes to shove and the game is on the line as they will always find a way to turn the ball over or take bad shots or miss free throws or give up three pointers at critical times. If any games do come back to haunt them and keep them out of the NIT, it will be the two losses to Iowa.
