I never understood the testosterone factor of having to drive your vehicle on a lake.

Another job killer! What are the towing companies going to do, or auto salvage/restoration, new car dealerships, insurance companies???????? Not to mention keeping emergency personnel on the top of their game. ;-)

I mean really...when did the Sheriff become a babysitter? I suppose they are going to close the lakes this summer if it’s to windy, wavy, or cold!!!

Well, so much for seeing more real-life lessons in natural selection...it's going to be tough to get the ice houses off the lakes...

I love the babysitter comment. There is nothing more adolecent than putting your car through the ice than expecting the governement to come help you get it out of the lake.

Oh great! More nanny state! This is just the government interfering in our lives! It's every red-blooded American's right to stupidly drive a two-ton hunk of steel onto thin ice and expect the government to come to the rescue. Wait, that's not what I meant.

When did the Sheriff become the babysitter? When public money is used to rescue people who don't use common sense, and when rescue workers lives are put in jeopardy to save these people.

It's a shame that someone actually had to make a decision that anyone with more than a room temperature IQ should be able to figure out for themselves. Nothing about this winter has been normal...so don't drive a vehicle out on the ice just because you've done it every other year and nothing happened.

So then are they going to provide the means to get the fishhouse off the lake?

The Sherriff became a babysitter after a critical number of our best and brightest residents chose to drive 5000 lb vehicles on mal-formed ice.
