The point is fundraising and donations from alumni. Get Haskin & Dutcher to help, they put players in the pros where they earned big money. If Tubby kept his recruits, maybe he would have players to draw from. Wait, maybe RS2 will kick in money after RS3 makes the pros?

i'm sure tubby would want what nebraska has... i want that for MYSELF!. but let's keep this in perspective....this is college athletics. there is no reason a kid needs a tv in a bathroom stall. a gym and a weightroom? maybe... the rest? forget it tubby. concentrate on coaching and start giving the fans some payback for the obscene amount of money you make.

All that and it's still Lincoln, Neb! If Chubby couldn't win at Kentucky he isn't going to win here. He is washed up and out of touch with today's game. Take your money and run...

nomorebrew, I don't get your comment. Tubby is 97-57 at the U. How is that not winning? He has done far better over his first four years than any other coach we have had here. Just for comparison, Beilein is 83-72 at Michigan, Majerus is 85-66 as SLU, Crean is 46-72 at Indiana, and Lickliter was 38-57 at Iowa. These are all guys hired at the same time as Tubby. Well done I say! He is trying to get this thing going and we have people trying to run him out of town. Let's turn this thing into a positive and get him the facility!

With an annual budget of well over 2 billion dollars there is no reason the second largest school in the country shouldn't have the facilities its student athletes need. It is a matter of priorities and athletics has also been behind at the U.

nomorebrew, you also said that Tubby did not win at Kentucky. He was 263–83 at Kentucky. That is a .760 winning percentage putting him in the top few college basketball coaches in the country. Yes, we all want to see Tubby win some NCAA games at Minnesota but they have had terrible luck with injuries, etc. I just don't think people are realistic with how they are evaluating Tubby at this point.

Tubby came here with the absolute promise of a new pratice facility, not a new one if you win.The nay sayers would say if he was winning now,why do you need a new pratice facility if your already winning. We made the promise, now we need to live up to it.Might help also when we hire our next coach.Of course we could wait and promise the next coach a new facility, we might even find one stupid enough to believe us.

Seriously, tvs in all the bathroom stalls? I'm sorry but at some point you have to realize these players are getting a good, free education too...Practice facility? sure, if its going to help this team get good recruits I wouldnt be opposed...but Ipads in lockers and tvs in bathroom stalls...no way is that necessary.

WHETHER SMITH OR FLIP OR ANY ONE ELSE IS COACH, IT MAKES SENSE, FOR ONLY $14 MILLION, TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS. THE FOOTBALL STADIUM COST $288 MILLION. ALSO, CHANGE THE BASKET SUPPORTS BACK TO THE PIPE, REDESIGNED TO BE SAFE, FIX THE BACKBOARD RED LIGHT SUPPORTS SO FANS IN BACK OF THE BASKETS CAN SEE THE RIMS AND REPAINT THE WILLIAMS ARENA FLOOR OUT OF BOUNDS AND FREE THROW LANE AND SOME AREAS OF THE STADIUM TO A GOLD COLOR. WE ARE THE GOLDEN GOPHERS NOT THE MAROON GOPHERS. REMOVE THE HUGE M ON THE BASKETBALL FLOOR (COLLEGE PEOPLE ARE AWARE THAT THE WORD MINNESOTA STARTS WITH A M) AND PUT GOLDY BACK IN THE CENTER CIRCLE. KEEP WILLIAMS ARENA AND FENWAY. HISTORY IS IMPORTANT IN OUR LIVES.

Yea....lets get a great facility like Nebraska so our team can be more competitive just like the Huskers. Oh wait...never mind the Huskers are terrible at basketball. There is one reason Nebraska has a great basketball/baseball facilities....Football.
