And now we have drug addict nurses and doctors providing us medical care. Scary.

Well, the American civil court is basically a legalized extortion system. Capone was born to early. It's all about churning money-->doctors, priests, Walmart, etc. MN state court doesn't even require unanimous jury votes for conviction. Thus, a defendant can have a jury member vote for innocence--> but still lose. Sound American to you? Add in the fact one lawyer has great financial benefits riding solely on the outcome.....witnesses on both sides can be paid 5 figures to testify....burden of proof far less than criminal court......plus all workers in the courtroom have their handsomely paying jobs because of the ease/plethora of civil lawsuits and it is like "businessman he11." Wonder why doctors order hundreds of billions of $$$$ of extra tests per year--one trip to civil court makes it clear. The BMP is correct to avoid this circus for reporting, as most doctors will be sued in their careers. Our civil litigation system is also the most underrated reason jobs have moved overseas. Simply filing a civil lawsuit in America ensures the defendant's best outcome is losing about 50k, and that's if they "win." Losing can be a whole lot more expensive. America is a country in decline, and much of the blame lies within our civil tort system.

Why is corrective action public information for Nurses' but private for physicians? This is a very unfair policy.

Time to bring Minnesota up to speed. Likely our numbers of problem docs is not that out of line but system needs to be much more open. Watch repub lawmakers run away from this ASAP.

Hmmm, legal practices can post monetary awards with sketchy information to draw in potential clients but the medical board can't post awards because the general public won't understand them? Hail the almighty MD!

Healthcare is a profession where something could always go wrong. They need to ban all lawsuits absent of malice to lower the cost being added by bottom feeders. Sorry, but $200K will not bring little Billy back and a BMW to make you feel better shouldn't be subsidized by everyone else.

We need to take action, this is unacceptable, just 'google' minnesotanboardnofmedical practice & send an email to each of the boards' members. I'm also emailing Gov.Dayton, as the members are appointed by the governor.
