Kevin Love put his foot down, figuratively with 27 points and literally on Luis Scola.

Great job T-wolves! It took until February 7th last year for them to get their 12th win (51 games). This is incredible improvement!

Comments from the game: 1-Ridnour was great tonight-he was active and ready to play. 2-I can see why Klove is considered a cheap player-he is good, but also has a bad temper and takes his attitude out sometimes on the other guys. 3-Carl Lowry is a very underrated guard for Houston. 4-For those that want the Viking park at the Target Center sight-forget it. It was a 45 minute wait to get out of the ramp because of the inane "ticket" system they use. When we finally got to the exit ramp, it was clear-but the "ticket gate" deal is a tremendous imposition on the fans. I know the Wolves don't control the ramp-but they need to make an issues of it on game nights. I'm glad I went to the restroom before I left the venue-because otherwise I may be been arrested for public urination. 6-I'm glad they have de-emphasized the pole dancers-we were only subjected to them in the 4th quarter for a few wasted minutes. Cut them out totally or keep them in the entry ramps where they belong-not on the floor.

The Wolves are the revenge of the Washington Generals! I remember watching the Globetrotters at Concordia College in 1964 with Bobby Joe Mason (Bradley University, should be in the Hall of Fame--look it up), Connie Hawkins (banned from the NBA for a fraudulent point shaving charge, later to be a Minnesota Piper), Meadowlark Lemon ('nuff said), Jackie Jackson (could take a dime off the top of a backboard). What's my point? Four of the greatest basketball players of the 20th century (only Hawkins ever played in the NBA) only played on a college court, instead of the Madison Square Garden, the Boston Garden, and the Chicago Stadium, etc. BTW, the Minneapolis Lakers were the 2nd to last NBA team to integrate (Bob Williams, 1955-57). Every MPLS Lakers championship was won with an all white squad. As the world turns. Tonight (02.04.12), the top five scorers for the Wolves are white: Love, Ridnour, Rubio, Pekovic, and Barea. When was the last time that happened in NBA history? (Elias Sports Bureau). The point of this post is that: 1. today's world of basketball is as global as soccer (three of the five mentioned Wolves are foreign); 2. the stereotypes of the 1950s against black athletes are now alive and well against white athletes Ccan you hear me Toby Gearhart?); 3. coaches are the most likely persons to believe stereotypes (e.g. Is Doug Williams still the best Super Bowl QB of all-time: look it up!); and, finally, 4. without stereotypes, Nate Wolters would be the starting PG for the Golden Gophers today, and the Gophers would be wondering if they are a #3 seed or a #4 seed, not if they are on the bubble. P.S. Tonight's Wolters stats: 31 pts, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, four steals. Addendum: earlier this year, Wolters was matched up against the PG that most believe is the best NBA PG prospect in the NCAA: Tony Wroten, of Washington. In that road game, Nate Wolters, scored 34 points, gathered 5 rebounds, and handed out 7 assists, without a turnover, as the Jackrabbits blew out Washington 92-73. After the game, Washington's first non-conference home loss since Pitt in 2007, Washington coach Lorenzo Romar was quoted as saying "he hadn't seen a performance like that since Jason Kidd was at Cal--one of the best performances by a point guard I've ever seen at this level."

I prefer to watch a competitive game with good officiating and good sportsmanship rather than tonight's nonsense. The refs have been negligent on more than one occasion this season by the calls they have failed to make for both the Wolves and their opponents. I'm interested in watching high quality NBA ball, not Sumo (sp?) wrestling. The league needs to step in a cut down on the excessive physical contact the refs have allowed this year. It simply results in widely inconsistent officiating, which is frustrating to players.

Scola got payback for the shot to the groin last week on Love. That's what that was about. It's all even, life moves along. So goes the NBA.

Congratulations to the Wolves for reaching .500 and not being satisfied with that alone but wanting more. Didn't see the game, just the highlights on NBA.com. Good to see J.J. moving along. Saw the box score and Martell's 1-8, is he ever going to be the shooter they traded for? C'mon Martell, quit over-thinking it and just play basketball, earn some respect.

Does anyone think KLove is going to get fined for stepping on Sciola? I just saw the hightlights and couldn't really tell if it was intentional or if he started to trip (after being grabbed) and was just trying to get footing.
