Worst way ever conceived to decide a winner.

Can we please just put Harding in for shootouts full time? Backstrom just isn't good at shootouts.

It's OK, they will have a second half run once full and healthy squad.

I knew the Mild were going to lose the game as soon as I saw Zidlichikikikiykikyi was starting annnnnnd Backstrom was in during the shootout.

Fairly decent game. Could have been stronger at the net. Like Dany Heatley's back-checking, didn't like Cullen's slash: unnecessary and not helpful. I like the Heatley/Brodz/Johnson line together. Let's keep it going and beat the Bluejackets on Tuesday! Also, whether Kassian has any "customers" or not, I like him in the lineup. Seems to give the team an edge for some reason. Let's go Wild!

Tough loss, the guys played quite well, but what can you expect when you score 1 goal? Ok, unless you play at the Pepsi Center. Zidlicky needs to shoot more, but tonight at least he looked like he competed. Too bad for Backs, they should really start pulling him for the shootouts and throw in Hackett. Harding is a great guy, but he's never been consistent over a season-long stretch.

Since there are 2 thumbs down on my comment about this being the worst way to decide a winner, I sure would like some other ideas to solve ties from the critics? Next thing you know, MLB will go to a home run derby to decide games tied after 9 innings. NBA, will play HORSE, etc.. As Carl the greenskeeper said to the priest in Caddyshack, when the big storm came in, "I'd keep playing". Maybe some day, the NHL will do the same thing.

On a serious note---until this team does something to fix the front of their sweaters by replacing that god awful, nondescript animal, the one with the moon stuck in its head, they are not going anywhere. Please hire a real designer and come up with a meaningful logo! It’s the worst in all of professional sports and also embarrassing.

I'm no hockey coach... But the three shooters the coaching staff put in for the shootout (Christensen, Cullen, Spurgeon) have a combined 15 goals on the year. Compare that to Heatley, Brodziak, Clutterbuck (the Wild's top three goal scorers) who have a combined 45 goals scored. Once Again, amature coaching.
