Holy cow! I sure wish some of that donor money could go to my son's $23K for 2011-2012 tuition & housing. This is INSANE. Time for Occupy U of M!

Sounds to me that there several slush funds tha can be used with very little oversight.

The deal pains me as I think of how much better it would be to help students with that money. It seems callous that a person would take that much money.

This person has embarrassed the UoM institution. The departure should be clean and final and make a statement: the U cannot afford this type of leadership.

I didn't appreciate reading abort Maturis' package, but punishing the entire U through the legislative process is probably a bigger mistake.

Democrats and Republicans challenging this decision. Well done! If we truly need money for higher education, here is a great place to start. No one should be rewarded for the type of job Maturi did.

Hey Mindy, I haven't forgotten that you legislators could not get your job done and shut down the state last summer. You also, are the ones who shut off beer in in the suites and cost the U a couple million a year. I think you better worry about getting your own house in order.

Another pointless stand taken by another do-nothing legislator. I say look at the waste of money the legislators are first. Mr. Maturi has been an exceptional AD, and has a lot to offer the University in his new capacity. None of you naysayers have any idea how difficult it is to run a Big Ten athletic department, particularly at Minnesota. Maybe you folks should trust the President of the University to know a little more about the situation than you do.
