Seagate is based in Ireland, not California. Huge tax and therefore financial difference.

Already in dire condition after financial losses and layoffs, Hutchinson now faces $25 million to $35 million in costs to rebuild its inundated plant in the Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya, Thailand, and to pay for substitute operations in the United States."...*********** ************************************************Wow, this is bad news. They have to have work done in the United States of America and use American labor. How sad. Let's hope the flood waters recede soon so the American jobs can be cut as soon as possible.

As a former employee who lost my job in Sioux Falls when Hutch closed, I can't stop and laugh enough at how much Karma has come around to Hutch. Now let's hope Mr. Fortune and Ms. Pautz step down and that the current employees in the US keep their jobs..
