I've been a fan since1978 and this is the first time that I amactually optimistic about the future of Gopher football.

Keeping his coaching staff together and closing the doors of the state was #1 priority. Great Job by Mr Kill and his staff. We should hire Glen Mason to be our RB's coach. Only Mason could find the diamonds in the rough when it came running backs.

one word comes to mind when describing Coach Kill and his staff - Loyalty. His current staff has been together for years - I'm sure that his positon coaches have had offers to go elsewhere - but he has managed to do the unheard of and keep them together.

Ummm.. I am glad that the Gopher's can get quality players from across the nation. I wonder how well they would have lured other recruits/players with a dome stadium? Why, why did they ever build an open stadium? Vikings, are you listening?

I don't know about how others are feeling, but I can't remember the last time is was so looking forward to a Gophers football season at this point in the year? That's on you coach Kill...

Solid guy, loyal staff. But can he recruit and coach well enough to win at this level? That will ultimately determine Kill's fate at The U. His first class makes me long for Brewster. At least Tim could recruit. Kill's class ranking of 12 out of 12 is NOT going to get the program moving in the right direction. I was hoping for a more 'middle of the pack' result. As with the long line of coaches since Warmath (Holtz and Mason probably excluded), it's another 'wait and see' time for University of Minnesota Football. Just what we didn't want when the new stadium was built and when Brewster was fired. Same-o, same-o.

i hope KILL can keep recruiting more than one player from the same team that seems to be working for getting the southern guys it has to be hard to leave home and comeup north to minnesota.

timandtia - the Illinois game was the most fun I've had a football game in this state for 30, wait 40 years. Freezing cold and kicking a**. That's what football in Minnesota is SUPPOSED to be like.
