Block E has been dead since "Rifle Sport" closed.

I'm not sure why peopl are opposed to a casino. Sure it might bring in riff raff, but so would anything else. Jobs would be created - dealers, maintenance, floor staff, security... it would bring people to the city. As for the riff raff, you can have a dress code, it would help keep some of it out. Revenues would really help with the state budget and the money could be used to improve other areas which need revitalization.

Target Center is across the street. Target Field is a few blocks away. So much for the Big Lie that taxpayer-financed stadiums drive explosive real estate development.

Until there is retail on the street level, instead of in the skyways, downtown Minneapolis will always look and feel like a ghost town. Block E looks more like it should house a giant big box store, like a Home Depot or something. What an eyesore.

Failed to attract lots of paying customers to its retail establishments... Um, OK, lets see why again... Poor design... yep. Poor marketing... ok. National chains... right. What else, what else... nope, I guess that is everything. Obviously it was just bad business decisions that caused paying customers to go elsewhere. Which will be remedied by a casino.

The failure of Block E is a good laugh on Minneapolis Council Member Lisa Goodman. Before Block E was built, I was at a gathering where Goodman was present. I said what needs to happen is to build something really innovative that you can't get in the suburbs. When she learned I'm a resident of a suburb, she said I had no rights to be part of the discussion if I were not a Minneapolis resident. She turned away and wouldn't talk to me anymore. OK, Lisa, enjoy your vacant failure!
