Those of us who were forced to flee out of those civil unrest countries are very familiar about the concept to be resettled in America, and how important and life fulfilling it is, but the old country remain a special location in the brain, it’s so tricky to delete. So can someone be an American, at the sometime, retain the old country’s yearning?

I do not understand media obsession with the palestinians. The majority of Jordan is already palestinian. But the Kurds number around 70 million and are oppressed in Iraq, Iran, and Turkey. The US should have created a new kurdish country out of Iraq. And a country for the kurds should still be a priority.

Jainebon your comments are rude and very hurtful. America is a country of freedom and I am sure at some point your family migrated here to the states. I think almost all of us at some point were migrated to the United states some by choice and some by force. It is very sad to see people being tortured and killed for no reason and other countries just to watch them die one by one. The world needs to open their eyes and not let evil destory man-kind. I am sure majority of Iraqi people are very thankful to the American people for entering Iraq and taking Saddam Hussein out of power look at the KUrdish Region since Saddam Hussein's fall they have blossomed so much they have built Kurdistan the economy is booming and every day they are constructing new buildings. Before Saddam Hussein Kurds were being killed for just being Kurdish. Thousands of kurds have been murdered in the hands of Saddams Regime.. Thank you to all the American's who supported a great cause and thank you to all the soldiers who fought for the freedom of Iraqi people and the ones who lost their lives while fighting for freedom of all..Your courage will never be forgotten even though here in the states we sometimes take things for granted we live in a country full of oppoturnities... Redqid I agree with your comment 100%......

Istarlin22: You are right it is very hard to forget where we have come from. Especially when we had no choice but to leave our country. To answer your question; Yes, you can be 100% American and still love your old country. It just depends on what country your from. If you love freedom, justice and liberty for all than you can choose both. I hope that my idea helps you what. Thank you.
