The building next to the Metrodome between 5th & 6th Streets isn't simply an office building. It's Minnesota's internet connection to the rest of the world. It's, in fact, one of the most valuable buildings in the state. Google 511 Building to learn more if you're interested.

"The biggest problem is that TCF has 14,000 fewer seats than the Dome, which would squeeze out thousands of season-ticket holders." ---- Make the needed seats a permanent addition! Why not? And, yes, that building with telecommunications firms is quite important.

RT - when are you going to show the taxpayers a detailed plan on how we are going to fund the local portion? I understand you plan to shift tax dollars around, but WHERE are you shifting it from? We have to be shorting something else to fund this 300 million+, unless you found a money tree. Details please. I'm ok with the state overriding the referendum requirement as long as you explain to the Mpls taxpayers in detail how we plan to pay for the local portion, including any potential shortfall.

TCF Bank stadium is 14,000 seats short of the Dome? Maybe not a problem if the Vikings have another season like the last two. The Vikings last three home games of 2011 looked to have at least that many seats sitting empty. In spite of the declared sell out.

You mean to tell me Viking "fans" after all the tailgating you can't sit for 3 hours without a beer?? Why not save millions & make it open air? Answer, the "fair-weather fans" of Minnesota wouldn't show up if the temp. was lower than 30 degrees, ala Bears game at the bank!!!! Note to people who have forgotten, the Gophers exist; booze isn't allowed in college stadiums, the Dome was off campus.many of you are probably unaware the Gophers used to play at the Dome!

To bad they didn't agree to share the Gophers stadium when it was being built. Problem would have been solved and we would have one less stadium sitting empty for 98% of the year. St. Louis Rams are in the exact same boat as the Vikings. Demanding a new stadium or they will leave. Guess where to? L.A. Hopefully they will move to L.A. and then the Vikings will be screwed.

Since tailgating is something you can do at TCF Stadium, I'd rather go without having an $8 Miller Lite and a $6 hot dog during the game.

I have zero confidence that anything will get done. If you want a referendum. Then do it. If you want to vote it down. Then do it. If you want to show how inept, trivial and unproductive a group of individuals can be. That must be the goal here I guess.

one university and it worked quite well, and it dint work so well when ziggy dint pay his bill.so how do you figure that into the equation.and its two sets of standards if you serve beer for the purple face painters and not for the gophers.just like the check points you put up for drunk drivers.durning holidays and not durning sporting events.but thats ok no better place to teach then at a school the true meaning of life.MONEY now how do you spell relief.
