no equipment to warm the frozen turf. going to be like playing on a parking lot. all other outdoor stadiums have ground heating systems.

The stadium should sell alcohol to all adults who wish to purchase it at any of their college and pro events. If that is not what the Gophers wanted they are 30 years too late with allowing it at the dome. To the best of my recollection there is not alcohol available when they host high school events (but I have never tried to purchase it then I guess)...Sell it during Vikes games and Gopher games and the price alone will prevent issues with overconsumption AT the game!

Explain to me again WHY we have to go outdoors to watch the Vikings play football? Did I miss something? Did an Earth Quake destroy the Metrodome? Did the State Legislature decide to borrow $650,000,000.00 and give it away to Ziggy Wilf to build his new Stadium? Say it ain't so Gov.......... Say it ain't so!

How in the world do you expect people to watch the Vikings play without alcohol???

I lived in El Paso for 10 years, about a ten minute drive to the Sun Bowl. I went to UTEP games (you want to talk about needing a drink? Thpugh I did see both Gopher games live) The Sun Bowl game itself always sold alcohol, while the UTEP games did not allow it. Stupid argument now in Minnesota. Duh, let the Vikes play there under standard rules for alcohol just like the Bears did when the Bears played in Champaign while Soldier Field was upgraded. Seriously, why are there so many socialists?

@bigbrad- "How in the world do you expect people to watch the Vikings play without alcohol???" .................. Good point, but sure as heck hasn't stopped those folks in Wisconsin even when their team is good, i.e. "how can I watch the Packers win without alcohol?", or "how can I watch the Packers choke against the Giants without blaming Favre or having alcohol?".

Why do we play this game to suggest that college games shouldn't server alcohol? They did actually serve alcohol for decades at the Metrodome and now they don't? Get real, when I was there I drank more before I was 21 than after I was 21, even during the games...adults are adults, let's check IDs and serve alcohol at college and pro games at TCF Bank Stadium.

Good, now they can afford to pay for the new stadium themselves!

oravenJan. 28, 12 2:27 AM

I can't believe this fool hardy article never do the jock straps quit trying to push the stadium fraud. No one is going to feel safe in voting money for this stadium this year forget it will never happen this year!

The prospect of watching Vikings football sober might empty out the stadium of the purple face painters. Painful at the very least!
