who cares? right politicians? its just money. towing the party line and making sure you show the other side who's "right" is way more important than taxpayer's money.

Maybe Mark Dayton can just pull some money out of his "trust" in South Dakota, write a check, and cover these costs, since it was his "leadership" that shut the state down...!

Both parties were responsible fot the state shutdown!! bigbrad said it well!! It is more important to "toe the party line" than to do the right thing! This sad fact is true for the federal congress as well as state legislature! We need to remember this come November!!

Let this message ring loud and clear: If you are a member of the legislature or in the governor's office, and you show the citizens of Minnesota that you don't know how to COMPROMISE..... you don't deserve reelection.

C'mon man!?! ... "Specially, when we all KNOW it was the Party of NO that ground it all to a halt with their regressive, reactionary, ridiculous (non)vision. You know the one: where the future of Minnesota looks a lot more like the future of Mississippi.

Will never forget driving by Gooseberry Falls State Park during the shut down on 4th of July weekend. Gate was shut and a big sign said CLOSED. Yet 3 State Trooper were sitting there in lawn chairs shooting the breeze. Getting paid do absolutely nothing. Typical example of how the state doesn't get it....

I don't understand why the construction projects had to stop in the first place! The government wasn't going to shut down indefinetely. Most contractors were either prepaid or would have been paid after the work was completed. This is so stupid.

Marx Dayton should have learned a lesson. The republicans offered a deal that would have avoided the shutdown, but the spoiled little quitter had to have it his way. Thanks Marx.
