Listen to people talk, and read what people write about Love, and it is just amazing how so many fans and so called experts continue to underestimate Kevin Love. He is currently fourth in the NBA is scoring, and second in rebounds. Think about that. Top 5 in arguably the two most important stats in the game. And he's only 23. But what do people say about him? He is not athletic. He is a bad defender (not true). He would not be putting up these numbers on a good team. (Last time I looked, Woofies were well on their way to being a good team). He is the second or third option on a championship team. I guess people just can't get past the 'highlight reel' plays. KLove is not going to give you the windmill dunk or the monster jam. All he is going to do is be the most fundamentally sound player in the NBA. The hardest worker. The great players improve some aspect of their game every year, and that is exactly what KLove has done.

.."the Art of Compromise" I am a huge fan of Loves. On that draft day, I posted "Love is the man" and was very disapointed in the Draft of Mayo instead, and then elated when he came in a trade. Now, I find this bitter sweet. Instead of Locking him up for the Max 5 yr deal,, Khan gave him all the Chips in the game. He can make 45 mil or so in the next 3 yrs then walk if he chooses. Khan left himself no leverage what so ever. This was no compromise,.and could be a future demise,.like KG. Im happy for Kevin, but as a fan,, I will not enjoy his ride here as much as if he signed for 5. Khan sent Love a message.. you are not as Valuable as Durant or other teams franchise player. Loves probably already humming "Surfer Girl".

Once they get the big bucks, Their stats will continually fall for the remaining years. There is less incentive to give 100% ALL the time now...he'll get his money as long as he stays healthy. It happens in all major sports. The only way to keep a high paid athlete performing at the top level...they have to believe they have a shot at being the greatest player ever.

Sid's right on this one, it was a good deal for both sides. Wolves will need the "designated" rule for Rubio as it's clear that the NBA is marketing him and will want him in a larger market.

Pretty obscene what sports stars make for running and jumping around. I know it is not Kevin's issue and he is one of the best, but don't you wonder about our priorities as a society?

Like with most highly paid sports stars, most of his salary will end up sitting in corporate coffers in the form of expensive mortgages, etc. The _corporations_ get richer.

Sick of the Minnesota media acting like this was a good deal for both sides. Love wanted 5 years. It's obvious to anyone who watches him talk about this that he's angry and bitter. Why alienate your best player? This makes absolutely no basketball sense whatsoever, and has everything to do with Taylor/Kahn being fools. The theory that this puts more pressure on the FO to improve is absurd. Why wouldn't they be doing that already?? This is why our management gets mocked incessantly. It's just- it's putting the horse before the cart and it's incredibly frustrating. K-Love deserved a max deal. Anyone who thinks he's not going to opt out after 3 years is fooling themselves. Way to put a pall over the season, Taylor/Kahn.
