Only went to the Jolly Troll a couple of times but enjoyed each visit. In addition to a smorgasboard being rare, eating out was a lot less common during that time, too.

I was assistant manager of the Cooper Theatre (across highway 12) for a period of time during the 1970s. I also worked a full time job and would sometimes race through the Jolly Troll before my shift. I also recall having Saturday morning BYOB (buy your own breakfast) meetings there with the Cooper staff. Great memories!

I just remember the jingle in the background of their ads. Talk about an earworm -- but this is wonderful for a Minnesota refugee in Colorado.

LOVED the Jolly Troll when we were kids. What a special treat to go there for our birthdays which was the only time we went out to eat.

Oh, how I remember the Jolly Troll. What a flashback! Now - Who remembers the Anchor Inn that served all you can eat "family style"?

There also was The Sweden House too that was a clone of Jolly Troll.

Anchor Inn onion rings and BBQ ribs were the best.

I wish the story had included more about the trolls; where they were made and so forth
