Kudos to Lt. Col Guetzke, every single citizen of the USA owes you a heartfelt thanks - your generation bought our freedom. Recently I have felt we in the US are all guilty of misuse of the term "Patriot". My dad also volunteered to serve, and although he suffered no injuries, I realize the sacrifice of his time of service. Many gave up jobs, their lives, their health, because of their belief in America. I know some have carried the memory of friends killed and wounded, and the difficult recollections of combat. I also would like to remind readers those volunteers returned to build lives and families which were the basis of the comfortable lives we now enjoy. But there seem to be a class of wealthy "Americans" incapable of recognizing and honoring the Greatest Generation's sacrifice. They call themselves PATRIOTS without ever having served. Like Mit Romney they even have the attitude they should pay little or no taxes, because they owe others nothing - they are self made men. I beg to differ. They owe their ability to become ridiculously wealthy to those who built our country - to those that sacrificed, to those military who now volunteer and sacrifice to preserve our freedom. So I would ask - if you want to sacrifice, do the minimum - pay your taxes as the Greatest Generation has, without complaint, but with the recognition this is the MINIMUM you need to do to call yourself an AMERICAN, and unless you have served, and then paid your taxes please realize - you have NO right to call yourself a Patriot. That term is reserved for a select group.
