There's no way this team re-signs Lats or PMB. No way. Too many mistakes for Fletcher already. Take that $6.75M a year and put it toward Parise. Also, there's no way Charlie Coyle makes this team next year. He's big, but people have to understand how immature he is. He just doesn't seem to get it yet. He was a bust at BU this year and he was a bust at Jr. World's. He needs to grow intellectually. Granlund, Bulmer, and Larsson are all damn near locks; they're all better than anything we have at Houston right now.

I've been wondering if Yeo's very demanding system is the reason why this team is now slumping. One can't blame Yeo for the success it has brought through the first half of the season, but it seems that the current personnel is not able keep it up for 82 games. Heatley looks old, and unfortunately Cullen has also dried up (same as last year).

4 goals and an assist, with a +2 rating, in 6 games at World Juniors, on a team with an even GF/GA ratio? Earned a goal against Team Canada in the 3-2 loss. Yeah, that sounds like a complete bust. Btw, Coyle was one of the top players at BU and left for personal reasons, as I think was reported. The team was very disappointed to lose him. Not a bust there either.

It takes time to build a winning program. Give this current regime some time. Not just a couple months.

What about trading Hards?? He seems like he'd be a VERY desirable pick up for someone looking for an unproven #1. Personally I'd love to see him go somewhere and take them deep in the playoffs (if the Wild are truly out of playoff spot #8 at year's end). He deserves a chance as a #1. We lose Harding next year anyway...right?

fyi... Charlie Coyle has 4 goals in his 3 games with the St. John Sea Dogs. the other Wild prospect on that team, Zack Phillips, leads the team with 61 points (23+38) in 41 games and is tied for 7th overall in the Q in scoring.

Hey Russo, want to call Shannahan again and ask him to explain the difference between McLeod's hit on Spurgeon and Brad Ference's hit on McDonough? Ference got 3 games, no history of suspensions, identical hit.

bobo, really, how is Coyle immature? Ok, so he quite BU right before final exams because he wanted to turn pro and focus soley on hockey. That seems like a mature kid who knows what he wants to do. The Q is a much better league than Hockey East or any college league, juniors is a much better place for players to develop their NHL game at, why do you think guys like Crosby,Stamkos and etc didn't go the college route? And plus he was a point a game player this year at BU when he left, was leading the team in plus/minus (which is huge for a centerman, given the defensive responsibilities the positon requires) and how was he a bust at the World Junions, he was a point a game player there too, and his first 2 games in St.Johns he had 2 goals. I dont get your scouting report of Coyle at all. Also, to add on to what Russo said, I think that Phillips has a pretty nice shot of making this team next year as well. In my opinion of our prospects that make the team next year, Granlund,Phillips,Bulmer and Coyle. Brodin needs to add some weight to his frame still, as he skated great at the WJC, but he was pushed around a little too. He is 6'1, so he has the height, and the skating ability, but he needs to get up to about 190 at least, he can't be more than 160 now.

peterls, I agree. Hards deserves a shot to be the starting goalie somewhere. And I think the Wild could get a decent haul, not great, but decent haul in return as he is young, cheap for this year, and he can resign with the team we would trade him to, for a reasonable salary in the offseason. And with Hackett and Kuempher as the future in net for the Wild, I don't see a spot for Hards long term. Too bad DR gave Backs that 6M contract, thats hamstringing Fletch big time. And dofferdahl, yep and Phillips also leads to Q in Plus/minus as well. Setoguchi is doing bad this year, no doubt, but people forget, it wasn't Burns for Seto straight up, we got Coyle and Phillips in that as well, so lets see how both them do before evaluating that trade. And plus, while Burnsy is doing ok in San Jose, he is definitley not living up to that contract he signed, San Jose was expecting a lot more for that type of money.

Backs AND PMB ($10mil)have completely handcuffed this team. Gillies getting picked off of waivers was a blessing as well. NO WAY should Lats be resigned for ANY amount. PMB should retire while his brain is still functional. I would love to see Parise here but, Granlund and a few other WILL be here next year as well.
