Stenglein's just mad Anoka county beats them at everything from economic growth to HS sports. I guess his sour grapes come from an inferiority complex. The facts are that you have more riders; riders equal more usage. Pay your fair share, and we'll gladly pay for ours based on usage. All we asked for was a station in Ramsey, and ironically Stenglein was the one crying about it.

Mr Stenglien,the people who use Northstar from Sherburne County are not parking in Downtown Minneapolis,are they.They are not clogging I-94 or more importantly using Northeast Minneapolis as a commuter corridor.Anoka County commuters have used the Foley park&ride for years.Anoka County has had alternatives to driving;Elk River and Big Lake have not.Northstar is a winner for Hennepin County.

Was not Ramsey to have a station when this thing first got started? Where they (Ramsey) not asked to wait a few years so that it would meet Federal Funding at the present time? I believe that is why Ramsey build that parking ramp in the middle of nowhere, knowing they would get a station in the NEAR future.

How about raising the fares to make it self-sufficient.Then give the riders a say in how it is operated instead of a bunch of politicians who only get on the N.Star when a news crew is taking pictures.

All of this bickering about who should pay is precisely why government should not be doing these kind of things. These kind of projects require so much public financing and benefit so few. Perhaps trains aren't practical here where they probably are in higher density areas like the Northeast part of the country. Highway 10 is still in need of upgrades and the train has given us very little relief. Perhaps all of this money should have been spent on it's improvements. Improvements that would have benefited far more people.

Not paying their share...then don't stop at stations inside the county. See how quickly those that ride Northstar from Anoka will scream.

So the counties alone (not including what's coming in from the state) pay $51M a year for roughly 7,000 riders a WEEK (unless they count a round trip as 2, then it's half that)? And they're arguing about the best way to EXPAND? We have lost all sanity.

How typically Republican and utterly selfish of Anoka to whine and welsh on an agreement. Yup, it's time for the Northstar trains to skip any stops in that county, until the whiners see the light.

As a Ramsey resident and having watched Matt Look in action when he was on cable TV at council meetings. I am not surprised at this story. Ramsey is in a big financial mess in large part because of Mr Look and his four right wing friends still on the council. Check out the Ramsey Council meetings on QCTV. It sad to see how quickly a city can be run into the ground by rookies. He needs to be removed from any decision making for Anoka County. I am embarrassed to be from Ramsey Mn and Anoka County.
