Justin Morneau: On balance, he's better

After another concussion halted his 2011 season, Justin Morneau has been diligent about getting himself 100 percent healthy for 2012.

It's hard not to pull for him. He plays the game with respect and deserves another chance. His combination of MVP-type ability and quality personality would be welcomed back in the clubhouse. Good luck Justin.

Your Done Justin! Admit it! Do the Twins and yourself a favor. Retire, collect the insurance money. You get paid and the Twins are out from under a contract you no longer deserve and are free go out a sign a reliable 1st baseman for this season. Both sides win.

All you can ask of a professional athlete in the off-season is to act like a professional and put maximum effort into preparing for the coming season. That is what it sounds like Justin is doing. I look forward to seeing how he responds to spring training and wish him good health.

Does anyone besides me think that the picture of him on that multi-colored mat looks like he's playing that dancing video game popular in arcades? Or twister? All kidding aside, he's one of the few Minnesota stars who exemplify good citizenship in athletes. I wish him well.
