Very nice win last night - it's amazing what balanced scoring can do. I got a little nervous when the Gophers stalled at the 14 point lead around the 13 minute mark remembering the collapse down the stretch of last year, but the Gophers made the the big plays at the end(the rebound and putback by Jackie was my favorite). To be fair, this isn't the same Michigan State team that won the Big Ten last year. They are still athletic but Lykendra Johnson is not the beast she was a year ago (she was a huge part of last year's comeback) and they don't have Kalisha Keene. Still, this is a great Big Ten win. The Gophers have already played three Big Ten games against RPI top 20 teams (Purdue and Michigan) and have handled a couple of good teams (Northwestern and Michigan State). 3-3 is not a bad place to be considering they only have 2 more games against teams currently in the RPI top 25 (Ohio State). Penn State and Nebraska will be tough (home and aways against both) starting with at Nebraska this weekend. Go Gophers!

InformedOne, was this televised? I missed it.

Good work, Gophs. Coach is right on in that Voight and Buford need to suck it up every night if this team is to succeed. INFORMEDONE What's up with Sari Noga? Is she still a prospect or just not quick enough to excel at the D1 level?

And what's up with Kellogg? Wasn't she all Big Ten freshman?

Great win last night! (it wasn't televised). I do worry about all the minutes the starters played in order to keep us in this game. Banham played all 40 minutes! Coach has to find a way to get the bench involved or the starters aren't going to have much left by March. I'm not sure what's up with Noga and Kellogg. Noga was out earlier with an injury but she has been dressed and participating in the latest warm-up drills before the games. As for Kellogg, I think Coach has decided that Kellogg didn't have the scoring mentality to be a starter and she wanted Voigt's senior saavy in the lineup so she made the change.

I too wonder about Noga - I thought she looked pretty good in the few games I recall seeing her play? Hmm maybe she is working back from injury. We'll see! And I agree about the minutes the starters are playing - Banham is great but we can't have her playing the full 40 min every game. As for Kellogg, I agree she's not the "scorer" maybe we'd hoped but I like her on defense though. I'll be interested to see how they do vs. Nebraska on Sunday.

As others have said, Michigan State was not televised last night (but the Nebraska game WILL be on the Big Ten Network at 5:00PM on Sunday). I'm also in the dark about Noga as she seems healthy. Kellogg has seen action, but I agree with raymondb62's assessment that Jackie has experience on her side and Borton may be looking to some senior leadership to guide this team (as has been her mentality in the past).

I watched the game on the Big Ten network. GO GIRLS!
