"without one of their best rebounders and scorers in Michael Beasley"....Sid, I don't know if you realize this, but Beasley is one of the worst players on the team. The fact we won big was BECAUSE Beasley was missing, not in spite of it.

The Twins finished in last place, their only chance to compete is with a new ball park. Get them out of the Dome, and they will prove they are a contender. Just ask upper management, they are all grinning now.

Sid, you really need to get over your "man crush" of McHale. He's been gone for over three years, so you can stop plugging him as a "great guy". Real fans know better. He never hired a coach that could fill Adelman's shoes.

Wow Sid, McHale was 2 for 13, and no help from a 2nd round pick. Wolves never should have fired him?

"This appears to be a rebuilding year for coach Tubby Smith."--Sid H. In order to "rebuild" Sid,...you first have to have a basic team foundation and structure. This Gopher Men's BB team doesn't have any foundation. I would say a more accurate statement might be (feel free to use in your next column) "This appears to be the end of the Tubby Smith Era at the U of M!"

Sid, when will you stop making excuses for Gopher losses and rip the team and their coach? They are freaking terrible!

Glad you mentioned the Love deal. Some of the many critics seem to have forgotten and now want to give that credit to Kahn. I remember well, the critics thought it was such a bad move. But, now it can be said, it was a great move. For those critics, how's Mayo doing now in Memphis??? LOLLLL...

Know doubt Rubio will get much media coverage. But, if you look at the statistics that are out there, Kevin Lowe is the Timberwolves best player!! How I hope that the Timberwolves management have a life long contract out there for Love. He is really a top 10 player in the NBA. Please don't lose him, I think he is even better than Garnett.

C'mon Sid, even you by now have to realize that Chubby was, and is completely over-hyped and can't recruit, coach, develop players or even start to build a program. He has not improved what he inherited from Monson any more than he improved what he inherited from Pitino. Here's my question: this is a young (and untalented) team, and he has no good recruits lined up for next year. Where's the rebuild??

Rebuilding year for Tubby and Gopher hoops? Come on, are they constantly rebuilding every year? Tubby is the higherst paid state employee in MN and he is one of the worst. No accountability. People should be calling for his job. Players defect, he recruits stiffs. Won 1 Big 10 game in 15 tries? Garbage. Is it possible that the perfect storm could happen where both Flip and Tubby get fired and the Gophs get "one of us" in Flip to coach? That would bring immediate excitement back to a dying program.
