Yes, we need more of this, the legacy amendment was and is a huge gain. However, it is having to swim against the powerful trends of the economy, like the current ag economy and policy, which is destructive. Also, the general overuse of resources everywhere. I think the important thing about the council is that it keeps the groups that backed the amendment vested and engaged in the amendment, by giving them a voice.

Not really sure what Dennis it 3 times. And McNamera is from Hastings, not SSP.At least Souchary is a better not get Dennis AT ALL. His political views and obvious anger appear to be blocking his potential positive impact on saving our diminishing natural resources.

I'm with jackpine on this one. Anderson used the word "Murky" in his article, and that's how it read. After my third attempt to decipher what he was trying to say I gave up.

I still wish we could get the darn "art's and culture" portion of this bill out of here. I still believe that most Minnesotan's think that this bill should be used for the "natural resources". Dennis, why can't you go after these people?

Translation of Dennisspeak: I don't understand what they are saying, therefore they are not doing the work intended. In simple terms, TMDL was used in the context of describing badly degraded rivers, choked with sediment and other bad things from human-caused factors. Work to improve that will improve water quality and wildlife habitat. That wasn't understood until someone said "we are improving water quality and wildlife habitat." Then he understood.

"Murky" best describes the rambling writing of this article. Like others who commented, I also read it again and have no idea what the point is.

I pulled up to a WMA to hunt pheasants this fall and the sign said "Paid for by legacy dollars". The problem is that WMA has been there for years.

Great to see the people engaged in the legacy fund project! Keep monitoring at every opportunity and be informed as there are always those politicians that would like to hijact the dollars for other endeavors!

wallwallJan. 6, 12 1:03 PM

Lowrie02- Politicians that would hijack the dollars for other endeavors. This hijacking can't be a shocker to anyone who even follows politics only occasionally. We now voted in for 25 years of questionable projects with questionable people pulling the strings. If anyone other than the Gvmt was involved in dispursing the funds I would have voted for it.
