I really wish that when you do these stories, you actually report what the other hospitals are doing. Many times you report what a hospital here in town is doing like it is unique when most of the other hospitals are doing the same thing. In this case HCMC deserves this praise, but seriously, shouldn't you also report on whether the rest of the hospitals in town are doing this or not? Last month it was Abbott and Palliative Care even though Fairview had the first program in town and every hospital has Palliative Care plans. You could have compared and contrasted the different hospital approaches.
0%... really? I just did an admit from HCMC... Full of errors and hmmm resident returned to hospital within 24 hours. Don't let this story fool you there are still plenty of errors in their discharging. If you've been in the hospital and you lived thank the nurse that kept the Dr. from killing you:)
Regions Hospital has a group of pharmacists that double checks everything. I have a friend who has been doing this there for years...
KUDOS to HCMC!!!
