The Wild has tripped headfirst into the midseason -- the latest being Wednesday's 3-0 loss in which the team was again a step slow all night.

uh, it's becoming obvious that the fabulous road trip the Wild took about a month ago was a fluke. Admit it Wild fans, if you watched those games closely, our goaltending was off the charts. And we had lots of favorable bounces. We're seeing the real Wild now. A team that will really be in a struggle to make the playoffs. And we thought it was in the bag a month ago. Isn't life sweet being a MN sports fan? Wolves, Wild, and Gophers all lose tonight; the trifecta. Wolves might be the only team that matters in this town.

@knucklebrain__ I don't think you're going to be able to convince many fans that the Wild are going to be lucky to make the playoffs. Even when the Wild were winning during the earlier part of the season, they were still getting outplayed and outshot on a pretty regular basis (OT win against Detroit is a pefect example). Although some of us tried to point out the Wild just did not have the offensive prowess of a team like Vancouver and that Backstrom/Harding would have to be near-perfect to let the Wild win, plenty tried to state that it didn't matter.

Coincidence or not? Marek Zidlicky was out of the lineup during the Wild's long win streak in late November/early December. His return to the lineup perfectly coincides with the start of their losing streak and the current woes. I know there have been injuries, but hmmmm......

Wolves are only team in town? Which town? Gerbils and UMD are 1,2 in most college puck polls.

YES WILD FANS, THIS TEAM IS BORING ME TO DEATH. YES, THEY SHOW EFFORT BUT THEY ARE NOT IN THE SAME CLASS AS VANCOUVER, BOSTON, ETC. AND FAR FROM IT. THEY ARE BECOMING A BELOW AVERAGE TEAM AFTER TEASING US FOR THE FIRST TWO MONTHS AND IT LOOKS LIKE A REPEAT OF LAST YEAR. THEIR OFFENSE JUST SUCKS AND REALITY HURTS TO WATCH. PS: PLEASE REPLACE MIKE GREENLAY WHO OFFERS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. NOTHING WORSE THAN LISTENING TO "HOMERS' DURING A SEVERE LOSING STREAK.

So is this all we get? One phenomenal run of great playing and then nothing but excuses from that point on? Excuses over....having faith in the team that they'll "come back" from this is diminishing with every game. Enough is enough...enough of the players saying "we didn't play our best tonite" to the interviewer (Really??? No S***????)...enough watching them turnover that puck more times than a pancake house...enough watching them race and "struggle" for possession of the puck (if they actually were DOING this - they'd HAVE it for more than 3 seconds!!)...enough watching them pass it to...who??...just enough excuses already! This team has maybe 2 skilled players on it and that's it. Last night was a frustrating, awful game but it was because the team came out half-asleep again. Was it their nighty-night time?? One of the few occupations in the world where they can sleep skate, perform at 25% of their capacity, and still earn millions of dollars a year. Just like the Vikings. Meanwhile their fans spend thousands of dollars on tickets and concessions every season to cheer for them and support this half-ass effort. What do we get for that? Nothing, nada, zip....just ever increasing frustration as the realization dawns that we're halfway through the season and again, our team is spiraling down a black hole. Sad.

I am glad they proved the "if we lose Koivu we cant win!" Well, he has been on the ice and they are struggling. I believe it is just something they have to go through and they will come out of it. It will be nice to see what kind of move Fletch will make. I watched Detroit play the other night, nice hard passes, tape to tape, over and over and over. It was refreshing to watch! You people that complain about Greenlay, have you watched and listen to the other announcers around the league? I think we are pretty lucky to have him. The Wild need to do something to change the teams mojo, now! GO WILD!

Sign of a good coach is that he improves the team.
