A even better scenerio for the draft would be if RG3 falls to us in the number 3 spot. Cleveland picking 4th and Washington picking 5th might try to take our spot to get him or take a risk that another team like Miami or Seattle trade up and snatch their QB away. Trading down can be a HUGE play for us if the Rams stay put. As much as I would like Kalil, if we can trade down a few spots for extra picks, it is a win-win for us. As for Frazier, I hope this structure gives him a better focus on making his players perform better, otherwise we will have talk about Barkely next year when he leaves USC. I personally do not think Ponder has a strong enough arm for the NFL.

Why would a team trade-up with the Rams at number two if they can trade-up with the Vikings at number three? The Rams aren't a threat whatsoever to take a QB with the #2. And although the rookie salary scale isn't what it used to be there's still a significant difference between number two and number three. Moreover, trading to the number two will cost a team more in draft picks than trading with the team at number three. Of course, the Vikings could tell teams that they're not going to trade the #3, thus forcing them to talk with the Rams instead... but that would be pretty asinine even for Spielman. But, in the case some team made a deal with the Rams so that they could take RG3, that would kick Kalil down to #3, so there's really nothing to lose with the #3. Losing to the Bears was the best thing the Vikings did all year.

I think the Rams will select JB. That leaves room for the Vikings to either trade down or select MK. Trading down though is a better option.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier expressed his unwavering support of the team's decision to promote Rick Spielman into the role of general manager. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE A VIKINGS FAN. EVERY BAD MOVE THEY COULD HAVE MADE FOR THE BETTER PART OF THE LAST DECADE THEY DID. THIS PROMOTION/REWARD FOR SPIELMAN FOR RUINING THIS TEAM IS MY FINAL STRAW. I CAN NO LONGER ROOT FOR NOR SUPPORT IN ANY FASHION THE VIKINGS. MORE THAN I CAN BEAR.

"Frazier pleased with new setup"? I suspect he is pleased just to have retained the Head Coaches job.

Blackmon or Griffith would be horrible picks in the top five. So let other teams who have a hankering for them bid the positions up. Unless they feel Kalil is a pro bowl fixture for a dozen years, they need to trade with someone in the top ten and pick up their first, their second and another pick this year of next for the three spot. That way you land three quality players in the first forty . That will jump start a roster that needs talent infusion.

Glad you're happy, Fraz - intelligent fans aren't........

I'm sure he is happy. Now there will be someone or something, beside his uninspired coaching, to blame. By the way, why didn't Wilf make this move last year? We'll start next year 1-5 and Wilf still won't know who to fire. Our owner reminds me of those two brothers that started the Timberwolves franchise...

Frazier is not the answer, Try to get Billick or Gruden it would be costly to get Gruden but he is pretty intense. Face it folks we will have no running game with Peterson done and Gerhart probably done, we have absolutely no wide receivers. Harvin is a Welker type but if the Vikings don't do something dramatic to improve the receivers, the line, the secondary, he will develop Joe Mauer syndrome and come up with a ton of owees and headaches. Kevin Williams is not the player he used to be. Allen only plays when he can get personal stats. I just hope the Vikings don't do something stupid like the Twins and do nothing to improve. The Twins got their stadium and since have done nothing to improve. Especially this year we lost Cuddyer, dumped Nathan, Kubel, and what sign power hitter grandpa Jamey Carroll. What incentive does that give any twins fan to go watch any games? They have 0 power hitters. Now the Vikings want a new stadium and with all our problems in every part of the game, Let Wilf pay for the who stadium. If us taxpayers get stuck paying the bill us taxpayers should get any profits that come out of owning it. I still say all the owners and players should all be made to pay for all the stadiums. They make millions and billions so without us fans they are nothing. So they should pay for it.

I would rather go without a coach than have Billick come back. Look...the dye is cast, have you seen the schedule for next year!? We are going with the same crew one more long season...by then even the WILFs will realize they are not the answer. Best to use the draft to get a new RB and Defense. Our early picks (again in the top 3 I bet) the following year will secure a new QB and more for the O Line.
