Thanks, Lori, for this appreciative and thoughtful memorial to the ethical and honorable journalist Charles Bailey II. Sincere sympathy to Mr. Bailey's family.

I don't remember Charles Bailey (no real reason to, actually) but I do remember when the merger happened and the resultant product, which had in those days far more depth and objectivity than does the current Strib. If the product is the measure of the man, then Sturdivant's piece seems accurate.
