Stadium debate have consumed decade of time in Minnesota. it took more than 10 years to build the metrodome and by some accounts it was obsolete the day it opened. Let the Vikings go to Arden Hills where they can make money!!

strib keeps putting the cart before the horse. Before worrying about where the stadium will be, they better worry about how to pay for it. The state taxpayers have made clear they do not wnat to pay for it. So unless the team decides to pay for a stadium on its own, as it should, its kind of premature to be talking about where it will be.

If ever there was a 99%/1% issue, this stadium is it......

Metrodome to Wilf for a buck or start hiring moving trucks. Zero taxpayer dollars to this entertainment debacle. If more funding is desired or required by Wilf, have him get a very low interest rate loan and/or start charging stadium attendees more to pay for his Taj Mahal.

Just a side note to the articles reference to the Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. I grew up in NJ. We had season tickets to the Giants games at the old stadium. It is a stretch to call the Meadowlands suburban. Nore like a stadium in a concrete jungle and the intersection of a few major highways near a rest stop.

If we are for equality (since every team is named after the state), build the stadium in AH. This way, Hennepin and Ramsey both have an equal number of pro sports franchises. And yes, I am counting the Swarm.

Building it on their own dime. What an excellent idea to start the new year! It solves so many problems, would have immediate public support, eliminate the continuing wrangling between the cities, and would allow the Legislature to return to the projects we elected them to watch over, not messing around with siting decisions, trying to scrape together funding, worrying about how we get our money back, and a host of related contentious issues which they're ill-qualified to address. Yes, that's definitely the way to go and would make approval of a new stadium in 2012 a guaranteed reality and endear the Wilfs to us for generations.

If we can't afford to pay teachers, we sure as hell can't afford to build the whiners a new stadium!!!

Anyone who wants should be allowed to have gambling. Let the "free market" sort out which would survive, and which would fail due to over-saturation of the market. That is how we end up with the final number of bakeries/gas stations/mortuaries. (Except areas zoned as residential) The "free market will work with gambling too!
