Wild's Kassian meshes bright mind, big fists

The son of a chaplain and an award-winning author, Matt Kassian makes his living by fighting. But there's much more to the Wild enforcer.

Please keep him in the lineup. He's here to stay.

Maybe other teams will think twice about taking runs at our skill guys. I think he spent the last 6 years in Houston lifting weights 8 hours a day, he is like a bull! Staubitz isn't a enforcer, he is more like a agitator, but every team needs one of those also. But we do not need 3 enforcers like Lemaire had!

Yes, keep Kassian in the line-up. He brings the intimidation factor, but can also play.

He sounds like a pretty interesting guy. I hope he sticks with big club for the rest of the year. Gillies has had plenty of opportunities to show what he can do and has not proven that he should be a guaranteed a roster spot. He can be shuttled up and down like a Warren Peters or try to find another team that can use him......Maybe get a second rounder for him, but probably a 3rd.

Fletcher has let him go for free but no takers a couple of times. I think that its clear that the Gm's all stick together and don't touch each others assets moving players that move back and forth from the minors unless they have permission to take that player. Mathew is not the big hitter that the Monster was but he serves a valuable purpose in all the other areas that Boogy filled- The biggest lesson to learn from the monster is don't just fight to try and prove something to the fans unless the fight has a good purpose

Guess we're going back to Lemaire goon hockey here, huh? I'll never get the meathead's obsession with fighting in hockey. It has no place. And next season, it'll be outlawed, so why roster a guy like this right now and take away a spot from someone that can actually be productive in an area the Wild so desperately needs, like scoring??? BTW: Can we expect this guy to die in the next few years, like the other three goons did this summer? I can't believe ANY article would celebrate a player like this after the three deaths this summer and all the concussion issues around the league. What an irresponsible piece...even if the guy is fun to listen to in an interview. I like Kassian; I hate what he stands for in the game.
