One tough guy, Kassian is back

Matt Kassian arrived at the Xcel Energy Center Thursday morning after a 7:30 a.m. flight out of Houston. He brought with him a few sticks, his bag of gear, a smile ... and a reputation for being a pretty tough guy.

FINALLY the Wild figured out it's better to give than recieve. I actually saw Zid stand a guy up entering our zone, a rarity for ANY of our D who'd benefit from watching North Star Fred Barrett on tape. Loved seeing Backs get fiesty, Billy Smith jr. Go Wild !

I certainly won't miss playing these hacks once the league re-aligns. Edmonton used to be a storied franchise (Gretz, Messier, Kurri, Coffey) and now they are reduced to a bunch of 2nd rate goons (Hordicheap, Peckham, Smyth, and Smid). Go Wild.. keep up the effort!!!

During Kassian's fights I couldn't help but think it was the boogie man out there throwing bombs. He destroyed DH!!! And I love the 1 skate fist pumps after on his way to the box! What a spark that the Wild sorely needed. Hopefully this is the start of a turnaround where we can may be not win 7 in a row but at least play better than 500 hockey for a stretch.. I'll take 7 wins in a row though!

ARRey sez: Eberle, Hall, and Nugent-Hopkins are a far cry from 2nd rate goons.

For those of you who might think that Kassian is just some small minded oak, think again! This young man is VERY well read, and a great interview. He is first class!

I watched the game last night and thought Kassian looked like an absolute idiot with his little victory dances. He's going to get his clock cleaned by someone if he continues with that stuff. It was embarrasing to see as a Wild fan.

I love the anti-celebration hockey critics. It's not like Kassian pulled a marker out of his skate and signed a puck. I suppose its embarrasing for Caps fans when Ovechkin scores a goal and leaps against the glass. No, it drives the fans crazy! They love it. Enjoy the product for crying out loud.

Good luck finding someone who can clean Kassian's clock. He just rag dolled one of the best in the league. Not once but twice in the same game. I have seen him go with the biggest and the best with no worse than an occasional tie. He is also an honest tough guy as he does not play cheap to start the nonsense and is actually a decent hockey player too. By the way, the guy is a great team mate also !

I dont believe we would have won the game if Kassian didnt play the way he did! He needs to play well every day so we can keep him up here. I agree that he makes Staubitz more effective. As fans, I dont think we give Mr. Zannon enough credit. This guy has been solid as a rock ever since I can remember. As far as I am concerned he anchored our defense since day one. He played a great game last night. I love Prosser's attitude last night. After being at the game and watching MK up close and away from the play, this guy is awesome. Heatly is a stud and we need him to regain his touch. It isnt from a lack of effort! CC is also amazing.
