Final game plan has Kleinsasser's number on it

After 13 blue-collar seasons in the Twin Cities, Vikings tight end Jim Kleinsasser will play his 181st and final regular-season game Sunday.

If this final game for Jimmy has "his number on it" than it is no coincidence that he will not be playing for a Super Bowl just like he never has in his entire 13 year career!!! He will probably not catch a pass without falling (or should I say stumbling) down as well and or drop one despite having 13 professional seasons in which to learn how to catch a football!!!

Wimpy you lack purple pride. Kleinie has been a class act and a true Viking. Not a gifted pass catcher, but he is the best blocking te ever. I wish he would play a couple more seasons. If you don't respect #40 you're not a true fan. He is the real deal.

Known as "Kleinfumbler" in my family, he's had some good games over the years. A solid but unspectacular player we probably won't ever miss him. Thanks for your contributions and good luck in your future endeavors!

He must have done something right to stick around for 13 years. Didn't he even get the franchise tag back several years ago?

@GHammer - Good old Kleinsausage and his inability to catch a pass (the one out ouf 10 that he can catch) without falling down right afterwards would not have been on any other NFL team for 13 seasons if the vikings had not signed him and that is a fact. Also, they did not want to upset the 2,000 North Dakota season ticket holders that have absolutely NOTHING elso to do on Sundays.

Kleinsasser is not a pass catching tight end. So what. He has put in 13 years and is a proven blocking tight end that many teams would love to have on their roster. The position has changed a lot in the NFL but having an extra blocker out their is still a necessity for any nfl team to function. Who cares if he cant catch a ball thats why the vikings have two other tight ends on the roster. Give the guy a break. Thanks for all the hard work Jimmy I wish you the best in all you do outside of football.

@wimpywilf and rluckoff. Neither of you deserve to be Viking fans, some of the only "real" fans out there. Go be a bandwagon fan elsewhere.

He's had a pretty good career for a blocking tight end/fullback. I wonder if he will land a job as an assistant coach somewhere. He seems like the kind of guy who could make a pretty good O-line coach. He's got a strong work ethic.

Jimbo has demonstrated the unusual traits of todays pro athlete: dedication to team, hard work ethic, unselfishness, not a greedy bone in his body, and played the game for what it was-a sport......Very few pro football players other than QB's/star RB's stay with one team for an entire career. He should be commended for all his previous successes in an otherwise dismal season.
