Great choice! Many will say the WNBA is not mainstream or popular enough to matter but that is irrelavent. The Minnesota Lynx players are Professional athletes who work their tails off to be the best players they can be. Pushing to the limit to achieve their ultimate goals. And Seimone did just that. The Lynx were an exceptional “TEAM” all year long. And all season long Seimone was one of the best in the league. Then, in the playoffs, on the biggest stage, when games mattered the most, she stepped up BIG on both ends of the court; anchoring the Lynx to a WNBA Championship. Nice selection Star Tribune! CONGRATULATIONS Seimone Augustus!

We need to give Ms. Blount credit for a really well done profile of this great athlete. The good ones always have heart and goals that drive them forward. Seimone showed all of us what a combining of talent and heart can deliver. It was such a joy this year to have watched the Lynx meet and exceed our expectations. The whole team appeared to really enjoy each other and playing together and it is interesting to see what one of the individuals had to go thru to lead the whole group upward to their prize.

Great choice and a fantastic article. Plus the best story in TC sports all year by far. Go Lynx!

Great choice. May some other over paid athletes (like Joe Mauer) take some lessons.

Great choice - great article - very great person!! Michael Beasley, take notes; challenge yourself, you have as much God given talent as Seimone. We would all love to see your name in this list.

If not for her (or another Lynx) I say the Strib should have just kindly passed on an award this years as nobody else would have deserved it in this state.

My son got to meet Seimone and her girlfriend last season after a game and said she was sooo nice.

Good for her. A nice change of pace from the usually over paid rich athlete struggling to feed his family.
