If Shanny does not give supplemental discipline to McLeod, this head shot thing is a sham. But I'm more unhappy about idiotic Greenlay trying to explain why it's not bad! What a moron! Leave it to an ex-gaoilie not to understand if you are going to take the defenseman into the boards from behind, you are supposed to keep him up. McLeod sticks a hand out and instead of wrapping Spurgeon up, he pushes him straight into the boards. Clear boarding and the refs called it as such. With the head contact he should sit extra games. And idiotic Greelay makes it sound like it's Spurgeaon's fault. What a buffoon!

And BTW, you can solve the problem of the coach telling the players to cheap shot people by making the suspended player's salary go to charity. That way the team loses money in the transaction.

McLeod is a punk and deserves any payback that comes to him. Hope Spurgy is OK, he's a big part of this team. I'm sick of the Wild getting gooned lately, time to sign Chris Simon? Greenlay is just part of the whole FSN crew that can't even recognize our own players. No one cares what Gorg and Greenlay think about ANYTHING! How about spending some time on what's happening in Houston, with draft choices and around the league. Al Shaver is rolling in his grave.

Al Shaver is rolling in his grave? Hmm. You must've gotten some news the rest of us didn't.

A valuable player like Spurgeon could be out long term while a worthless player like McLeod will probably get 3 games. At some point they'll need to call any contact from behind a penalty - whether it leads to the opposing player crashing into the boards violently or not. Yeo if you're upset then call up Kassian for the next meeting with the Avs, make things interesting.

What a shame! I hope it isnt as bad as it looks. Not good with no weight on the leg, then straight to a stretcher, then to hospital! I keep saying we need a tough SOB on the team, most everyone disagrees, including Russo. So, are we going to send Staubitz after him, so Staubitz can get his butt kicked, again? I still loved the way Boogie could control bullying, from the bench. Why we dumped Boogie and Big John at the same time is beyond me.

I agree with what most here are saying - McLeod is a dirty player and the hit is typical of the way he plays. Spurgeon, on the other hand, is a fine hockey player and one of the best on the Wild this season. I hope he's OK.

Wasn't able to watch the game but can just hear Greenlay as jabuyer describes. I would love to see more opportunity for Wild fans to publicly voice opinions on our "bargain-basement" announcers. Our team is good this year, and we have a great coach, now lets work on the broadcast booth. Question for Wild management: Why subject Minnesotans, some of the most knowledgeable hockey fans in the country, to a cast of complete idiots? Greenlay easily the biggest moron of all. Gorg is not bad (at least knows the game some), and I can live with Terharr, but when you see/hear the quality that lesser hockey towns have around the league, it's a damn shame how we're getting screwed with plugs like Greenlay. If New Jersey had Doc for years, Washington (of all places) has Benanoti, St. Louis has Pang, pay some dough and get Gary Thorne up here. We deserve it after what we've suffered thru.

We deserve it after what we've suffered thru-- you make it sound as if we are all homeless and haven't eaten in years. We DESERVE better- shut up.

I knew that letting John Scott go was a mistake. He is easily the most feared enforcer in the league and the Hawks are a much better team knowing Big John is sitting on the bench watching their backs. Staubitz is worthless as a hockey player and enforcer. I would consider Stoner our best fighter on the team and I agree with Washburnik but we also have Kassian who can handle goons like McLeod.
