I'd be willing to bet most of those people moved to this township did so because of LOW property taxes. And now they'll have to pay HIGH property taxes and under increased regulation. Dumb.

The annexation laws in this state are criminal. The cities spend themselves into destruction and then force themselves onto townships to bail themslves out. The Founders thought taxation without representation was worth fighting a war over. I wonder what they would think of hostile annexation.

The description by Pete of annexation laws Minnesota is pure fiction. No cities spend themselves into destruction. All cities have Councils elected by the people that live there. Residents are free to choose their elected officials however they want, and can vote them in or out of office based on the things they do. The Founders would be fine with how cities and townships now operate, they are all voting to choose who they want or don't want in office. You are watching too much Faux news based on your inflammatory comments. The hostility is in the eye of the beholder here.

If this is the case then Rogers better get itself a REAL police chief again. Bring Jeff Luther back and get rid of that so-called "interim chief" they've had since they railroaded Luther. Be advised Miller and all the shady council members, the new citizens of Rogers are going to expect professional conduct by all of you for the tax money they are about to shell out. I doubt they will look too kindly at your usual good 'ol boys tactics. Better put on your big boy pants and start running Rogers the way it's supposed to be run, or find someone who knows how to.

I have to disagree with your statement regarding today’s cities operating under the Founders intensions. Many cities are spending more than they can afford. They do so based on other branches of government abusing their power. They do so under the idea that they will be bailed out and their imbalanced spending will be offset by a larger branch of government’s abilities to assist with their finances. When you can point to one Federalist who preached the practice of the Federal branch taxing one citizen from another city/county/state, and then the Federal government siphoning those monies at their discretion to their city/county/state of their discretion, then maybe, just maybe, you’ll have an argument that “the Founders would be fine.” Founding Father’s name would be nice if you plan to respond.

I still have not found anyone in Hassan that was for this "Disorderly Annexation". Somebody made out like a bandit.
