I believe it was PMB who got a misconduct, ejection and an additional 2 games suspension when a player lifted PMB,s stick into his own face. Ruling was you must have control of your own stick. It will be interesting to see if a vicous run from behind on JS is viewed as at least an equal to PM,s vicious attack!! No, I don,t think the refs are out to get the Wild. I do however believe that the NHL and NFL "powers that be" do not give a rats behind when a MN team is on the receiving end of vicious hits, missed calls or bad calls! I hope Jerod will be OK!!!!

Too bad for Spurgeon, I kinda liked the way that little guy played defense...

McLeod has been suspended in the minors and is known to be cheap. My guess is 2 - 4 games minimum depending on how serious the injury to Spurgeon is.

Cody McLeod is a classless player what else can you say on the subject.

Remove the instigator penalty. The NHL has shown itself to be incompetent in enforcing its policies. Time to give it back to the players. I will be watching the next wild....erm, minnesota aeros game against the snowflakes just to watch Staubitz get hammered by McCloud....Hoping Kassian is called up for that game. Team tough isnt doing it right now unless we are talking Bouchard into account. He has a brutal stick swing thats earned him suspensions.

Unfortunately, the recipe for success against the Wild has become "use your cheapest player to take out one of the Wild's steadiest". This was a good deal for the Avs - they lose McLeod (no loss) and we lose Spurgeon (best defender in recent games). Shanny's actions have only reinforced this game plan. He could earn some legitimacy if he'd actually hand out suspensions objectively, instead of letting other teams rail the ones he doesn't care about (e.g., the Wild).
