Well water drawn to keep the grass green at Calvary Cemetery contains minerals that have discolored just about everything else.

But not sensitive enough, countered Stack, who said discolored monuments are an "insult to all involved."

C-mon.... This is a critical issue that deserves newspaper coverage?????

This guy obviously has too much time on his hands and obviously has a very thin skin....

Just power wash the stone with hot water and a phosphate cleaner then treat them with a water repellent coating from a tank sprayer. If relatives are so concerned about this issue then you'd think that they make the effort. No one ever said life (or death) was going to be easy.

Instead of complaining, Stack could clean up the marker.

Garrison is from Brooklyn Park, not Anoka.

Soda Blasting would do a fast, safe, and economical job of cleaning monuments. Check Xceed Soda Blasting's web site for before and after pics of monument cleaning. They're a mobile service and will do the work on location.

smarterthanu: Apparently not. I believe Garrison graduated from Anoka High School in 1960. Might be a Lutheran, probably (just guessing). Likes Samuel Clemens, Sinclair Lewis, and that 'Great Gatsby' guy. And old radio shows with singing, fake commercials, and bluegrass. Mighty fine mellow fellow...
