Chip Scoggins: For team's future, don't be too big to fail

The Colts' victory Thursday keeps the Vikings in the running for Andrew Luck -- as long as they don't go out and do something silly, such as win a game.

Don't worry, the Vikings will mess this up too. Almost certainly they will win one or both of the next 2 games and not only lose out on the #1 pick, but probably fall below the top 3.

When have the Vikes ever been #1 at anything meaningful?

I like to think that history will be on the Vikes side here. We will not get the number one pick, but the second pick. We will screw that up and the number one and three picks will be studs. This way us fans can complain about something else going wrong with this organization yet again.

We absolutely can NOT pass on Luck and trade for more draft picks. You can't completely rebuild a team through the draft in one year. I don't think we're gonna get the chance anyway, but we can always dream.

write this down,,,,,no one, NO ONE is going to give anyone 4 number one picks for this guy.

With Barkley not declaring for the draft....and possibly other junior QBs doing the same....the demand for the top pick might be amplified. This could get very interesting.

Do we trust the Braintrust to make the proprer selection? I wouldn't bet on it. Other than the first round picks, the last few drafts have brought very little talent to help with depth.....see current roster. As everybody has been saying on these boards, get a real GM & fire Rick Spielman & the other people responsible for the personnel decisions, just my opinion.

Don't worry. Frazier will find a way to lose these games and Spielman will find a way to mess up the draft.

Forget about us getting Luck. Even if we got the number one pick, Spielman would pass on Luck.

David Kahn stockpiled point guards. Will the Vikes do this at Qb?
