Watch Esme Murphy's interview last Sunday morning, with the assistant majority leader's comments about "openness" and "transparency in government", and then almost immediately he he could say NOTHING about what it is that this woman "allegedly" did. I am no Republican. But shouldn't we all know why this "incident" has caused that high a ranking member of our political establishment was forced to resign? Which is worse... whatever it is she did(and unless it was a damn crime, this is all a bunch of political hooey) or the politicians trying to HIDE something??? I mean C'mon.

Wondering what would be the level of recourse if she had been a male? President Clinton? Herman Cain - (He chose to withdraw himself) - non of these had forced action upon them. I'm not condoing her actions. Just seems very gender discriminating.

What two consenting adults do behind closed doors is no one else's business... with the exception of their spouses.

From the "Family Values" crowd, the "Sanctity of Marriage" amendment machine. Hypocrisy at it's finest. They want less government, but that doesn't mean less governemnt in our personal lives if we happen to differ on the details. No matter how cynical I get, it's never enough. - Tomlin's Law

glorpifax - normally, I would agree with you. But you can't go around preaching family values and then have extra-marital affairs.

...a part of me says she's being thrown under the bus. The "Right" now has a scapegoat When the Public questions the nonproductivity of this lack luster group, they can sanctimoniously say they were busy purifying their party.

Amy sure cares a lot about what two consenting adults do behind closed doors. Her entire campaign was based on what people do behind closed doors. What these family values people do behind closed doors is their business but their hypocrisy is obvious.
