Not only will the Vikings win in April if they lose now, losses by opponents will help, too.

Doesn't matter if we get pick 1 or pick 3. Spielman and the triangle of ineptitude will screw it up

I hope they do not get the # 1 pick because they don't need Mathew Luck. Maybe they could get 2 1st round picks in exchange. Buckshot1 is correct, it does not really matter because we would probably draft another Williamson.

Packers loss didn't help because Chief's win counts toward SOS since we played them this year.

For us to the get the number one pick the colts would have to win out and we would have to of course lose the last two as well. If we tie the colts they will still have the easier schedule (it isn't close right now). as for the rams, we will win the tiebreaker with them because they already have a tougher schedule and their last two games are against the steelers and 49ers. so we better not win another game and we can simply draft kalil, one of the best lt prospects in years. if by miracle we get the number one pick then draft luck who happens to be the best quarterback prospect since john elway. luck is a stud. i understand ponder has no chance right now with the o-line and receivers, but he has an average arm and his accuracy is erratic. i think he can be a good qb eventually, not great. luck will be great, he is as fast as ponder, bigger, has a stronger arm, is much more accurate, and has all the intangibles that ponder has if not more. pretty simple scenario for spielman, but rounds 2-7 are incredibly important as well, so fire him before its too late.

Can't pass on Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin, or Matt Kalil. They will go one, two, three.

Worst case scenario: winding up with the first pick overall and pretty much being forced into Andrew Luck. At that point you have three young qb's on the roster. One being Ponder who you've committed one year to developing. Another being Webb who has shown quite a lot of intrigue worthy of being given a shot. And then of course you'd have Luck who would HAVE to be played. Then you're left with Ponder who you'd either have to trade (a 3rd rounder at best a year after spending a 1st) or let sit on the bench and not develop. And then you'd have Webb who still wouldn't be developed or finally converted over to WR. But the worst of it is that you couldn't pass on Luck to take that USC LT - Kalil, and let Luck fall into the laps of the Colts who would have very little reason to swap draft spots with the Vikes via trade. All that said, I trust the Vikes to make the correct first round pick but nothing beyond that.

kennyrogers.....you actually think we would draft RG3? Really? That would be the biggest waste of a draft pick. The vikings have way bigger needs. Matt Kalil or Justin Blackmon would be much better draft picks or even the CB from LSU claiborne.

Any top three pick will be a no brainer. Passing up on Luck would be crazy. The Colts have Manning and they are projected taking Luck. He must be pretty good.

So their is a collegian named Matthew Luck is there. What spot does he play? Looks like Kalil should be a perfect fit for the Vikes. You do remembet the last great left tackle the Vikes took from USC. He turned out to be the best in team history and is in the hall of fame. Then they can move Johnson to a guard position.

What we really need is stick in the #3 and have Washington or Miami lose out. We would be in good position to trade the #3 to one of them so they get the QB (RG3 or Barkley) and we will still get a choice of the LT Smith, WR Blackmon or WR Jeffrey. I expect the CB from LSU to be picked by St. Louis.
