One good Wild turn leads to another, and another

What isn't going well for the Wild these days? Going into Thursday night, the Wild leads the NHL in points despite a rash of damaging injuries and the Houston affiliate ranks second in the AHL.

Nice synopsis of the Wild. I only have one complaint. Rodent? I love the logo! Not sure what it is, but it isn't a rodent! Go Wild!

The real story is depth to help keep the ship sailing strong and long. Fletch gets a standing O for stock piling players in the system to help the Wild stay on top. Coach Yeo gets a standing O for coaching players and getting them to buy into his system. It's also plus that this team has 2x more talent than Todd Richards had the last 2 yrs.

I do think that this story was written generally well but DR had the energy and vision behind the overachieving Wild in the early days, Fletch has been learning on the job for 2 and 1/2 years now but he has all the energy for the job that DR had when he first started.... The article is judging the minute by the hour..... TI use to think that the Houston team mattered but I don't any longer as most of those guys are just AHL talent like Wellman, guys that can fit in for a few games....... The Wild lost season tickets due to direction of the team and not because of the players last names

Writing that the AHL team doesn't matter is arguably the dumbest sentence ever composed. It is a close 2nd to the sentence that most of those players are just AHL talent: Scandella, Spurgeon, Stoner, Bouchard, Clutterbuck, Harding, and Koivu all spent at least 1 season playing for the Aeros. If those are all just AHL level players, then you have a Minor League team leading the NHL in points a week before Xmas.

Jim, you probably with the 3 year extension chili got on the way to the NFC title game. That didn't end tooooo well. Jim you also realize 11 points separate the first spot from the West to the 10th spot right? Jim, you realize Kyle Brodziak has a career high of 16 goals and already has 11 goals this season? you really think that pace will continue? Seriously? Lastly Jim, do you realize this column will look really silly when the Wild miss the playoffs?

also, say this with me...everybody, "fool me once with a team of 15 goal scorers shame on you, fool me 10 seasons of 15 goal scorers shame on me." Also, can we stop mentioning the injuries? there is barely any difference between the best player in the organization and the 35th best player...why is that you ask? because they are ALLLLL mediocore. the shoe will drop at some point...I think fraudulent is the best adjective for this team. I always enjoy watching the wheels come off.

You can make a clear case that Craig Leopold is the premier owner of a professional sports franchise in this market. The goings on over at Target Field, Target Center, and the Dome front offices can't hold a candle to what Craig Leopold has started with the hiring of Chuck Fletcher, who experienced an early "hiccup" with the hiring and firing of Todd Richards.
