They are loading up on DB's which is good. Recruiting rankings are overrated. I just saw an article the other day on how the first team all Big Ten offensive players for this year were not highly recruited. Texas and USC always have the top classes, but the Gophers hung with USC, and Texas has been bad the last two years. It's all about coaching.

how many games has the coach at rivals.com won? Yah that's what I thought. Brewster had a top 3 in the big ten and top 25 nationally ranked recruiting class in '08 also, how'd all those guys work out? it just proves that coaching and player development has a lot more to do with sucess than just recruiting guys that have a certain # of stars behind their name.

Wow!!! I thought Kill would at least be number 10 in the Big 12. Looks like another 2 years at least of no bowl games and continued 2 win seasons. Lets get in the conference with N.Dak. state.

12 of 12? Not so good....I like the way they finished, but I give Kill no more than a "C" for this season, maybe even a "D". USC is a very good team and the Gophers played them tough. Then they literally mailed it in for over half the season. They were ridiculously bad until they hung with and beat Iowa. So progress was made late, but that bad stretch is still troubling. With a 12th ranked Big Ten recruiting class, at least Jerry's apologists can keep excusing the team's poor play. Jerry sounds like a great guy; an honest and likable dude. But remember, Gopher fans: so was Jim Wacker. The jury is still out on Kill.

I fail to see how it is 12 of 12, not that rankings matter too much. Philip Nelson is under-rated on the sites, for one, with even the sites saying they need to re-rate him. Case in point - Rivals doesn't have Hayes in their database at all, and ESPN has him as one of the top 150 players overall. We'll see what happens on the field. Rankings certainly don't reflect our progress in locking down the borders and keeping some of the best players in state, which the Gophers are looking to do this year.

Kills recruiting was never highly ranked at Illinois State either, but they were always good. The Gophers showed IMMENSE improvement through the year, what are some of you guys talking about? Yes, we will see but Kill and his staff don't put up with any nonsense and I believe he will make us competitive. No player is entitled to anything under Kill, as it should be.

Wow, the blind homers are going to keep embarassing themselves right up until MN is accepted to the MAC! Kill will never win in the Big 10 with what he is bringing in. The top three players from MN this year are already gone!

@killloses "The top three players from MN this year are already gone!" --------------- I don't know why I'm bothering, since your chosen name shows you're a troll, but they landed 6 of the top 10, with one to go. Of the remaining players, 2 had the U as their second choice. So that's in the game for 8 of the top 10, with one to decide. You clearly haven't been paying attention. And who are the top 3 they didn't get? McDonald is one. Who are the other two? Davidson isn't really an in-state guy. He came here to play for this year only and has no ties here. And we already got commits from two strong O-linemen for this class that DO have connections here and chose to stay home (Pirsig, Hayes). You can argue Will Johnson is better than Maxx WIlliams at TE but they got one of the two TEs. I don't see what you're on about, really.
