A fumble by Joe Webb on the game's final play at the Lions 1-yard line stripped the team of a shot at victory.

Is it too much to ask for Phil Loadholt to actually touch an onrushing defender that is lined up right in front of him? This guy should be a matador, not an offensive tackle.

Fall flat for Matt...like it! Fellow fans, think clearly, a loss is a win in this season. They show signs of improvement and then fall flat for Matt. Works for me. Nice no call by the ref while Webb has his head almost torn off. No one saw that. Fixed. Choke on your whistle much? Plane to catch? Note to ref; When a players helmet is spun 180 degree's and their body is still facing straight ahead and another player has his hand on the face-mask, it is time to throw the flag. Don't like the lions. Don't like their coach. Loved it when he was 'Harbaughed' earlier in the year. "They aren't who we thought they were", they are still the lions. They will miss the play-offs because they are still the lions.

JOE WEBB NEEDS TO BE THE STARTING QB! The Vikings front office is to stubborn and idiotic to play him though because they don't want to admit they wasted a pick on Ponder at 12. They coulda had a OL or WR or DB and started Webb, but NOOOOOOO! He may be the best athlete on the field, has a stronger arm and can make plays. I think Webb has the ability to be a bigger version of Vick. Put him and AD and Harvin on the field at the same time and Defenses have issues. Tebow has made me believe you don't have to be traditional. Good coaches use the best players they have. You don't sit a guy with Webb's ability. EVER.

Joe Webb played brilliantly. Don't blame this loss on him, he brought us back from certain defeat. Joe is a stud.

What's with blaming this loss on Webb? Are you kidding? Ponder through the ball miserably at times, and cost this team at least 17 points. Furthermore, the pass blocking was awful, and the run blocking not a whole lot better. But Webb was the team's start of the game, and if the refs had been acting like blind cyclopses, we'd have won the game. It's way to early to talk about Ponder being a bust. However, Webb's performance today cannot be overlooked either. Both these guys deserve a shot to win the starting job. Webb definitely looked better today, despite his rustiness.

If the Vikings start Ponder next week the whole coaching staff and front office need to be fired on the spot. Literally let the team decide what plays to run. How could they do any worse? Webb is a dynamic player who needs to be on the field.

And another thing, Joe Webb is the most mobile QB in NFL history! (and I'm old enough to remember watching a guy named Fran Tarkington) How can we not give this guy a chance?

We don't have any WR's but we have Harvin (think Wes Welker), granted we don't have a Tom Brady but how good of a QB does it take to throw short quick slants or over the middle to TE's. The Pats threw two rookie TE's into starting lineup last year and they both excelled last year and this year but yet Musgrave and the Vikes have not figured out how to use both Shiancoe and Rudolph. Don't think the Pats have anyone like AP either. Point is, the Vikes need to start using 2 TE's and keep defenses confused as to which one is blocking or are both. In this passing league, 5 teams have their TE's as their leading receivers.

You can't turn the ball over five times and expect to win. I say five because the sixth one wasn't legal. There is absolutely NO excuse for the officials missing the face mask on the last play of the game, and you'll never convince me that a flag wouldn't have been thrown had Webb been wearing a green and white number twelve. I'm not saying they'd have scored given another play, but they deserved the chance. This team is bad enough without having to fight the officials as well. The last play was a disgrace, and not by the Vikings -- I can see fumbling when some guy is trying to pull your helmet down to your knees.

"whiff" Gerhart needs no paycheck after that final play of the game 0 effort.
