The U players can rest easily on their 20-day break after surging late against Michigan Tech.

Exciting last couple of minutes! Gophs play to expectations. Good Patterson (2 GAA, .913 Save %) shows up and so does the offense. Maybe someone can pick a song for the March to the Penalty Box.

Goldenchoker even you have to admitt the WCHA refs are calling bad games league wide. I just wish Grant Potulny would've decked Tech's Asst Coach.

Gotta love the dogs, getting hot at the right time. And its always sweet when a MN school beats down and cheeseface school. Go Minnesota hockey, dominates. How about those Gophers, Dogs, Mavs, Huskies, and Beavers. Oh yes, all the Wild do is win. Truly a great state, MN.

he Gophers have to clean up their unecessary penalties if they are going to advance. Granted Tech is a much improved team but the Gophers have to become more disciplined. There is a problem with them passing up too many good shots in the scoring zone and over passing. You could say they are unselfish by doing so but they are giving up a ton of good scoring chances by overpassing. They have to shoot the puck and attack the paint looking for the rebound. Good ending before the break. Patterson is having a banner year and we know the Gophers can score if they shoot. Go Gophers!!!!

voner26 I agree with the cleaning up the penalties but the WCHA refs are brutal this year. If the refs want to call games tight, then do it. Just be consistant, so the players can adjust. The Gophers and Sioux series was poorly officiated. The Gophers I thought benefitted from some questionable calls. The UMD and Gophers series was a badly called series. Last week vs Mankato was the worst of all. Everyone of these the Gophers swept in so, it's not like I'm picking games when the Gophers have lost. Go Gophers!

Ask yourself. You're much more experienced with fighting for home ice. I have nothing to compare it to. Maybe similar to rancid greasy grimy gopher guts? The sweet taste of success over the past three weekends and a promising second half is something I know more about. That tastes great!
